Description
Summary:All rock samples are physically located in the rock repository in two rooms on the ground floor. On the shelves are plastic boxes with rock samples from former NPI geologists, together with some packed material from Dierk Blomeier. An inventory list (including the name of the geologist who collected the samples, the geographic area and the year of collection) is on N:\Geologi\Metadata\Bergartsprøver\Steinlageret.doc. The samples are poorly registered however, and consulting old field notebooks is necessary to find specific rock samples.Material from current NPI geologists can be found in the drawers of the rock cabinets, together with some sorted material from former geologists: (1) Winfried Dallmann: Word file with inventory of samples on N:\Geologi\Metadata. (2) Synnøve Elvevold: Documentation in own field note books, no inventory yet. (3) Dierk Blomeier: Documentation in own field note books, no inventory yet.
