Throughout the Russian territory from Kaliningradskaya Oblast to southern part of Khabarovsky Kray, Kamchatka. Outside Russia in N Africa, Europe, Turkey, Transcaucasia, Iran, Afghanistan, Middle Asia, Kazakhstan, N and NW China, N Mongolia, Korea, Japan (Honshu Isl.). Hostplants: Origanum, Thymus, Achillea, Ptarmica, Veronica, Rumex, Antirrhinum (Beljaev 2016). Genetic note. The barcode of Buryatian specimen differs from the nearest haplotype of S. ornata (Europe, Italy) at 2.1%.
