Summary:Simulation with a barotropic tidal model of the four main tidal constituents in the area around Norðoyggjar are presented. The horizontal resolution is 50 - 100 meters. Accurate knowledge of the tidal currents are of large importance for the fish farming industry, as current speeds beyond a certain limit is prohibitive for fish farming. It is also pointed out that accurate bathymetry measurements are crucial fro reliable simulations. NERSC Technical Report no. 191.
