Summary: | The data processing codes were established to process raw data files recorded by the aerosol instruments installed onboard CAMP (Pilz et al. 2022) during balloon-borne measurements on the Multidisciplinary Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC, Shupe et al. 2022) expedition. The "RecalcSTAPFileToFile_Function.R" processes the raw data files of the Single-Channel Tricolor Absorption Photometer (STAP, Brechtel Inc.) according to the recommendations given by the manufacturer and in Pilz et al. 2022. The "CAMP-MOSAiC-raw-data-processing.R" code combines single data files of the Condensation Particle Counters (CPC, TSI 3007), the Portable Optical Particle Spectrometer (POPS, Handix Scientific), and the processed STAP files. Corrections for individual instrument counting efficiencies, aerosol sampling system losses, and for standard temperature and pressure (STP) are applied. The barometric altitude is calculated based on a barometric pressure sensor onboard CAMP and ground temperatures at the start of each balloon flight taken from the MET-City observations. The codes were used to process the data set published on PANGAEA: https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.943907 The provided codes are based on the opensource software RStudio (https://posit.co) |
