Summary: | Sorex unguiculatus Dobson, 1890. Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 6, 5:155. TYPE LOCALITY: Russia, "Saghalien [Sakhalin] Island; Nikolajewsk, at the mouth of the Amur River." Ognev (1928:204) and Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951:52) both restricted the type locality to Sakhalin Isl. DISTRIBUTION: Pacific coast of Siberia from Vladivostok to the Amur, and the islands of Sakhalin (Russia) and Hokkaido (Japan); from Corbet (1978c). SYNONYMS: yesoensis. COMMENTS: Subgenus Sorex.
