COMMENT: Includes albigularis, gala, and tagulayensis; see Ellerman, 1949, The Families and Genera of Living Rodents, 3:65, but also see Alcasid, 1969, Checklist of Philippine Mammals, Manila Nat. Mus., Philippines, p. 29, who listed gala as a distinct species (KFK and GGM). Probably a relative of Tryphomys adustus (JH).
