COMMENT: Petter, 1975, Part 6.3: 10, included this species in nanus, but on page 12 listed it as a distinct species. Corbet and Hill, 1980:164, listed muriculus as a distinct species, as do DLH and DML. DML includes muriculus in genus Dipodillus; but see comment under Gerbillus. ISIS NUMBER: 5301410008091024001.
