Description
Summary:Harpalus solitaris Dejean, 1829: 337. The specimen here designated as lectotype is a male bearing the labels: “male symbol”, “ solitaris m. Eschscholtz in Kamtschatka D. Eschscholtz. ” and “ Lectotype of Harpalus solitaris Dejean, 1829 design. by J. Serrano ”. These labels thus match the original description: Il se trouve au Kamtschatka, et il m’a été envoyé par M. Eschscholtz. The other specimen in Dejean’s collection becomes a paralectotype. The species is found in most countries of Europe and also across Siberia reaching the Pacific Ocean, northern China, northern Japan and northern parts of North America (Kataev, 2002; Wrase, 2004).
