References. Brèthes 1908: 299 (catalog); Malloch 1933: 303 (key), 305–306 (redescription, Melina ); Stuardo 1946: 151 (catalog, Melina ); Steyskal 1966: 445 (type); Knutson et al . 1976: 3–4 (catalog); Marinoni 1995: 128 (list); Marinoni & Mathis 2000: 172 (fig. 12 antenna); Knutson & Vala 2011: 364 (geographic distribution), 451 (table 21.1 world checklist). Remarks. F. Walker (1837) noted in the original description that the holotype is a male. G.C. Steyskal examined the type in the NHMUK (No. 63.43) (Steyskal 1966: 445) and confirmed that it is a female. He wrote, “The type female agrees well with Malloch’s description, but the exact identity will not be known until a description of the postabdomen of conspecific males can be made. The species should be known as Pherbellia fulvipennis (Walker), new combination.” Published as part of Murphy, William L., González, Christian R. & Elgueta, Mario, 2022, A catalog of the Sciomyzidae of Chile, with a key to genera (Diptera: Sciomyzoidea), pp. 261-278 in Zootaxa 5099 (2) on page 269, DOI:10.11646/zootaxa.5099.2.6, http://zenodo.org/record/6048580
