Polyplacophora of uncertain taxonomic position ­ Paul (1976) mentioned the occurrence of an unidentifiable polyplacophoran in the northeastern Pacific (14 ° 17.5 'N, 126 ° 15.4 'W), at about 4500 m. ­ Menzies (1963) reported 5 chiton specimens from the southeastern Pacific, Peru­Chile Trench, 2000– 6000 m, and a single specimen from the same area from 3147–3255 m. .
