Summary:Glyptotendipes (Caulochironomus) dreisbachi Townes Material examined. CANADA: Manitoba, Lake Winnipeg, Matheson Island Government Wharf, 1 male, 5.vi. 1969; Old Fishing Dock, 2 males, 21.vii. & 11.viii. 1971; Hecla Island, 51 males, 27.vii. & 11.viii. 1971. The male imagines have 9 –18, 25 (5) sensilla chaetica on ta 1 of p 2 at 0.1–0.7; no sensilla chaetica on ta 1 of p 3. Distribution and ecology. The species was previously known from Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Michigan (Townes 1945: 146, Oliver et al. 1990: 47) where it is a burrower in the stems of several species of Potamogeton (Townes 1945: 146).
