HF 13, NE of Canal Adalberto, lat. - 48.6875, long. - 74.5229, 19.iii. 2012, 22.6 m, sample C 157: fragmentary fertile colony, largest fragment 8.5 cm high (MHNG-INVE- 86253); 19.iii.2012, 22 m, sample C 158: a fragmentary fertile colony, largest fragment 15 cm high (MHNG-INVE- 86254). Remarks. For a description of this species and its synonymy, refer to Peña Cantero & Vervoort (2003). Distribution in Chile. This species occurs from Guaitecas Islands in the North (Jäderholm 1904), to the Strait of Magellan in the South (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2003). World records. Occurs on the Patagonian Shelf (Blanco 1981, El Beshbeeshy 2011, both as Selaginopsis dichotoma Jäderholm, 1904), as well as in the western Antarctica (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2003).
