Description
Summary:Parapiophila fulviceps (Holmgren) NBP/NIS material examined. 43 ♂, 30 ♀ from the following sites: Northwest Territories: Banks Island; Nunavut: Cambridge Bay, Kugluktuk, Lake Hazen; Quebec: Schefferville; Yukon Territory: North Fork Pass (vi.1962; vi–vii.2011; vi–viii.2010) (CNC, LEM). Comments. Parapiophila fulviceps was previously recorded in Alaska and Manitoba in the Nearctic (Sabrosky 1958; Steyskal 1965) and in northwest Russia in the Palaearctic (Ozerov 2004b). The species is now known to be more widespread in northern Canada based on NIS and NBP specimens. Published as part of Sabrina Rochefort & Terry A.
