Current identity: Sphenometopa stackelbergiana Rohdendorf, 1967, as treated by Rohdendorf (1967, 1971) and here proposed as a senior synonym of Sphenometopa luridimacula Chao & Zhang, 1988, syn. n. Additional specimens: Sphenometopa luridimacula Chao & Zhang: Allotype ♀: China: Xinjiang, Baicheng, Akeqisu, alt. 2400m, 17.V. 1978, Coll. by X.Z. Zhang (NZMC). Paratypes 2 ♂♂: China: Xinjiang, Baicheng, Akeqisu, 2400m, 18.V. 1978, Coll. by X.Z. Zhang (NZMC). Sphenometopa stackelbergiana Rohdendorf: Paratype 1 ♂: Pamir, river Vostochnyj Pshart [Eastern Pshart], 11.VI. 1964, Coll. by L. Pritykina (ZMUC); 1 ♂: Mongolia: Kobdosskij aimak, river Ulyastajn-Gol, 25 km S of Bulgan, 31.VII. 1970, Coll. by [V.F.] Zaitsev (ZMUC). Remarks: Comparing the holotype of S. luridimacula with a paratype of S. stackelbergiana, we could not find difference in the shape and setosity of the fore first tarsomere, the extent of the wing patterns or in the male genitalia. Therefore, we have synonymized S. luridimacula under S. ...
