Haemogamasus timofejevi .— Zemskaya, 1973: 119; Nikulina, 1987: 224, fig. 116 (7, 14); Goncharova et al ., 1991: 45. Type locality. Russia, Eastern Siberia, Chita City. Syntypes. ZIN. Type host. Mus musculus (L., 1758). Host range. Similarly to Hg . pontiger , this species is a predatory mite with a tendency towards hematophagy (Goncharova et al ., 1991). It may live in vegetable stores, cellars and other similar locations inhabited by synanthropic rodents. The occurrence of Hg . timofejevi on wild rodents is also known (Goncharova et al ., 1991). Distribution. Siberia (Western and Eastern), Transbaikalia, northern China (Goncharova et al ., 1991).
