Summary:Nematocarcinus lanceopes Spence Bate, 1888 A common benthic deep water species recorded in the Weddell Sea, off Knox Land, off Enderby Land, off the Adélie coast, the Indian sector of the Southern Ocean and the western Ross Sea; 243–2268 m (Tiefenbacher 1990b; Komai et al. 1996; Burukovsky 2000b; Raupach et al. 2010; Basher et al. 2014; Dambach et al. 2016). Also recorded from Marion and Prince Edward Islands (Branch et al. 1991) and the extreme south of Tierra del Fuego (Arntz et al. 1999), but these records are very likely based on other species.
