Description
Summary:Eusergestes antarcticus (Vereshchaka, 2009) Widely distributed in low Antarctic, sub-Antarctic and temperate waters of the southern hemisphere, pelagic (Vereshchaka 2009). In literature usually erroneously identified as Sergestes arcticus Krøyer, 1855 (see Guzmán 2002; Vereshchaka 2009). Specimens of Eusergestes arcticus (Krøyer, 1855) from the Strait of Magellan recorded by Doflein & Balss (1912) probably belong to this species. Records of Eusergestes similis (Hansen, 1903) from southern Chile in Guzmán (2003) and Ceseña et al. (2016) also refer to this species, at least in part (see Vereshchaka 2009).
