Summary:Ceratias holboelli Krøyer, 1845. Northern Giant Seadevil or Northern Seadevil . To at least 85.5 cm (33.7 in) SL (Theodore Pietsch). A maximum size of 152.4 cm (60 in) TL in Kamikawa (2017) is a misprint. Circumglobal; western Pacific Ocean north to Japan; Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska, and off British Columbia and central California; Hawai’i (Mecklenburg et al. 2002). Larvae reported from off Punta Eugenia, southern Baja California (Funes-Rodríguez et al. 2011). Depth: 120–3,400 m (394–11,154 ft) (Mecklenburg et al. 2002); also reported at surface (Porteiro et al. 2017), but without documentation.
