As far northward as Laguna San Ignacio, southern Baja California (Barjau-González 2003), and throughout Gulf of California (Whitehead et al. 1988) to northern Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1998), including Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997).
