Description
Summary:Pseudobatos glaucostigmus (Jordan & Gilbert, 1883). Speckled Guitarfish. To 91 cm TL (35.8 in) TL (Rodrigues-Romero et al. 2008); a much larger record, about 150 cm (59.1 in) TL (Ramírez-Amaro et al. 2013) is undocumented. Bahía Magdalena, southern Baja California Sur (Pollom et al. 2000a) to Ecuador (Amezcua Linares 1996), including Gulf of California (McEachran in Fischer et al. 1995). Benthic; depth: intertidal to 112 m (367 ft) (min.: Weigman 2016; max: Amezcua Linares 1996). In an analysis of DNA, Naylor et al. (2012) found no statistical difference between this species and Pseudobatos productus (Ayres, 1854). Nevertheless, because of differences in morphology and color patterns, they retained the two species.
