Description
Summary:Genus DOLORIA Skogsberg, 1920 The genus Doloria is subdivided into two subgenera on the basis of the structure of the fifth limb. Doloria (Doloria) includes D. (Doloria) levis (type-species) and D. (Doloria) sarsi and show the 4 th and 5 th exopodite segments of fifth limb fused and armed with only 2 bristles, and the lobes of 3 rd segment with 2 + 2 bristles. Doloria (Dolorietta) subgen. nov., includes 9 species: D. (Dolorietta) antarctica sp. nov. (type species), D. (Dolorietta) pectinata, D. (Dolorietta) levinsoni, D. (Dolorietta) septenaria, D. (Dolorietta) isaacsi, D. (Dolorietta) mawsoni, D. (Dolorietta) sextafiliformis sp. nov., D. (Dolorietta) sp. nov. 1 and D. (Dolorietta) sp. nov. 2. in which the 5 th segment of the fifth limb may or may not be fused to the 4 th segment; these segments carry a total of 5–9 bristles. The lobes of the 3 rd segment of the fifth limb have 2 + 3 bristles. In addition the species of these two subgenera differ in: (1) the number of the filaments on sensory bristle of the 5 th segment of the antennula; (2) the number of bristles on the epipodite of the appendage of the 5 th segment and on the 4 th endite of sixth limb.
