Summary:Genus SPINACOPIA Kornicker, 1969 Type-species. Spinacopia sandersi Kornicker, 1969. Composition. Genus Spinacopia includes 15 species: S. bisetula Kornicker, 1969, S. sandersi Kornicker, 1969, S. variabilis Kornicker, 1969, S. menziesi Kornicker, 1969, S. octo Kornicker, 1970, S. antarctica Kornicker, 1970, S. torus Kornicker, 1970, S. mastix Kornicker, 1975, S. rex Kornicker, 1995, S. illex Kornicker, 1995, S. crux Kornicker, 1995, S. trox Kornicker, 1995, S. sandix Kornicker, 1995, S. syrinx Kornicker, 1995, S. dietkeyseri, new species. Distribution. Members of this genus live mainly on the southern hemispere between 08°S and 73 °S and a depth of 133–4758 m with the exemption of Spinacopia sandersi which Kornicker 1969 found on 30 ° N at a depth of more than 1000m (Kornicker, 1969, 1970, 1975, 1995; Hartmann, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992) (Table 1).
