Summary:Symplectoscyphus hero Blanco, 1977 a Symplectoscyphus hero Blanco 1977 a: 4 –6, figs 1–13, 19 – 20; Vervoort 1993: 240; Peña Cantero et al. 2002: 1538 -1539, fig. 7; Peña Cantero 2008: 461, fig. 2 h; Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2009: 88, fig. 2 h. Ecology. Shelf species, collected at depths between 70 (Peña Cantero 2008) and 135 m (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2009). Epibiotic on hydroids (Peña Cantero 2008) and gorgonians (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2009). Gonothecae: February (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2009). Distribution. West Antarctic: only known from off Low Island (Blanco 1977 a; Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2009) and the north of Livingston Island, in the South Shetland Islands (Peña Cantero 2008).
