Chukchi and Beaufort Seas eastward to Greenland; Bering Sea westward to Sea of Okhotsk and southeastward to Prince William Sound (Mecklenburg et al. 2016). Benthic; marine and brackish waters (Dyldin and Orlov 2017); depth: shallow subtidal to 110 m (361 ft) (Mecklenburg et al. 2016). Pholis gilli Evermann & Goldsborough, 1907, is a junior synonym (Mecklenburg et al. 2016).
