Mesopelagic; depth: 466–670 m (1,528 –2,198 ft) (min.: Personal communication: University of Washington, Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture Fish Collection, Seattle, Washington: max.: Personal communication: University of Washington, Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture Fish Collection, Seattle, Washington). The one record from California was a 9.8 cm (3.9 in) SL specimen collected by midwater trawl at 0–15 m (0–49 ft) (Anderson 1989).
