Sea of Okhotsk (Toyoshima 1985) and south-eastern Kamchatka (Gilbert and Burke 1912), Shirshov Ridge (Fedorov 1976), and Commander Islands (Andriashev 1937); Bering Sea south of Cape Navarin to near Unalaska Island (Toyoshima 1985, Anderson 1995) to northern Baja California (Anderson 1995). Benthic; depth: about 256–2,100 m (840–6,890 ft) (min.: Eric Anderson, pers. comm. to M.L.—the “ 200 m ” of Andriashev (1937) was based on an estimate; max.: Anderson 1995).
