Maria Cornthwaite reports that all of these fish were caught in a single tow in Hecate Strait on 28 May 2009. Although this is a poorly understood species, and these lengths may be correct, without any voucher specimens we are hesitant to accept these records. Pribilof Islands (56°40’N, 171°59’W), and Aleutian Islands off Amchitka Island (Maslenikov et al. 2013) to Islas Coronados, northern Baja California (Bolin 1944). Benthic; depth: 9–699 m (30–2,293 ft) (min.: Levings 1973; max.: NWFSC-FRAM).
