Benthic; depth: 18–482 m (60–1,581 ft) (min.: Miller and Lea 1972; max.: Bradburn et al. 2011), also reported to much deeper waters, 1,145 m (3,756 ft) (Ramsey et al. 2002), and 1,201 m (3,940 ft) (Lauth 1999), but without documentation.
