The Oregon record in Miller and Lea (1972) (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California) has been shown to be Clinocottus globiceps. Benthic; depth: intertidal to 2 m (6 ft) (min.: Eschmeyer and Herald 1983; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
