Summary:Erilepis zonifer (Lockington, 1880). Priestfish or Skilfish. To 188 cm (74 in) TL (Zolotov et al. 2014). Sagami Bay, Pacific coast of central Honshu, Japan (Mecklenburg 2003), to south of Commander–Aleutian chain, and southern Gulf of Alaska (Mecklenburg et al. 2002), to Monterey Bay, central California (Eschmeyer and Herald 1983). Depth: juveniles and young adults to about 110 cm (43 in) TL collected near surface, sometimes close to shore (Mecklenburg et al. 2002); adults close to bottom; depth: 200–1,047 m (656–3,438 ft), usually far from shore (min.: Mecklenburg et al. 2002; max.: Zolotov et al. 2014).
