Description
Summary:Camptonectes spp. 2011 Camptonectes sp. —Hammer et al., fig. 7j. Material examined. 118 unnumbered specimens, all internal moulds with delaminated shells from seeps 1, 3, 4, 8 and 9. See Appendix 1 for the list of specimens. Remarks. These specimens belong to the genus Camptonectes, but the absence of external shell characters means they cannot be identified to species level. They most likely belong to the two species discussed above, but it is possible that some represent individuals of contemporary Jurassic and Cretaceous species, including Camptonectes (Camptonectes) auritus (Schlotheim, 1813) and Camptonectes (Camptochlamys) obscurus (J. Sowerby, 1818). Published as part of Hryniewicz, Krzysztof, Little, Crispin T.
