Summary:Hypotrachyna brevirhiza (Kurok.) Hale (1975: 26) This species was described with its type (S) from Mina Elena at Isla Riesco, Magallanes (Hale & Kurokawa 1968). The species was described as common in southernmost South America, a conclusion confirmed by our studies. All studied specimens contain atranorin and salazinic acids (majors), and norstictic acid (minor). Specimens examined: ARGENTINA.
