Summary:Austrothaumalea capricornis Theischinger Austrothaumalea capricornis Theischinger, 1986: 298. Material examined. New South Wales: 3 ??, 1 !, Blue Mtns NP, Mt. Wilson, Waterfall Ck, 22.xi.1993, 13.xii.1998 (AMS, CNC). Distribution. This species is known from Mt. Wilson and the Point Lookout region of New England National Park. Remarks. The above specimens from Mt. Wilson were collected either along a narrow cascading stream or at the waterfall near the edge of the forested region. This locality is a small remnant rainforest growing in rich basaltic soils, and near the stream is a large grove of tree ferns (Dicksonia antarctica Labill).
