Description
Summary:? Halecium antarcticum Vanhöffen, 1910 (*) Halecium antarcticum— Totton, 1930: 144 –145, fig. 4. Remarks. The presence of H. antarcticum in the Ross Sea is not confirmed. According to Peña Cantero (2014b), records based on infertile material, or just with immature gonothecae, are not reliable because of its similarity with H. pseudodelicatulum Peña Cantero, 2014b. This is the case for Totton’s (1930) material. Published as part of ÁLVARO L. PEÑA CANTERO, 2017, Benthic hydroids (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa) from the Ross Sea (Antarctica) collected by the New Zealand Antarctic expedition BioRoss 2004 with RV Tangaroa, pp. 1-65 in Zootaxa 4293 (1) on page 47, DOI:10.11646/zootaxa.4293.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/828475
