Description
Summary:Erigeron uniflorus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 864. 1753. "Habitat in Alpibus Lapponiae, Helvetiae." RCN: 6254. Lectotype (Huber in Jarvis in Taxon 41: 563. 1992): Herb. Linn. No. 994.23 (LINN). Generitype of Erigeron Linnaeus. Current name: Erigeron uniflorus L. (Asteraceae). Note: Erigeron uniflorus, with the type designated by Huber, was proposed as conserved type of the genus by Jarvis (in Taxon 41: 563. 1992). However, the proposal was eventually ruled unnecessary by the General Committee (see Barrie, l.c. 55: 795-796. 2006 for a review of the history of this and related proposals).
