Description
Summary:Monardia (M.) lignivora (Felt) While the geographic distribution of this Monardia is known to span both the Nearctic and Palearctic regions, actual specimens documented in the literature are sparse. The two previous Fennoscandian records (Norway, Finland) are both based on single males (Jaschhof & Jaschhof 2009: 199). The presence of M. lignivora in Sweden is evidenced here for the first time based on two findings in southern Lapland. Material examined. Sweden: 1 male, Lule Lappmark, Jokkmokk, Kaltisbäcken NR, old-growth herb-rich boreal forest with plenty of aspen trees, 31 July–28 August 2016, MT, MCJ (spn. CEC 2770 in NHRS); 4 males, Jokkmokk, Lagnäsån, Road 97 6 km SE Vuollerim, small patch of old-growth herb-rich boreal forest, 30 July–31 August 2016, MT, MCJ (spn. CEC 2771 in NHRS, spns CEC2772 – CEC 2774 in SDEI).
