Summary:Cistothorus platensis falklandicus Chapman Cistothorus platensis falklandicus Chapman, 1934: 7 (Sea Lion Island, Falkland Isl.). Now Cistothorus platensis falklandicus Chapman, 1934. See Herkert et al., 2001: 4, and Brewer and MacKay, 2001: 119. HOLOTYPE: AMNH 165401, adult male, collected on Sea Lion Island, Falkland Islands, on 17 (not 15) December 1915, by Rollo H. Beck (no. 5041). Collected on the Brewster­Sanford Expedition. COMMENTS: The AMNH number of the type was cited in the original description. Paratypes are AMNH 165399, 165400, 165402, and 165403. Beck left Bleaker Island on 15 December, anchoring overnight at a harbor in Adventure Sound and reaching Sea Lion Island on 16 December, where his party remained until 18 December. Three of these ‘‘Tule Wrens’’ were collected beside a small stream that ran through the tussack into the sea (Journal, Archives in the Dept. of Ornithology at AMNH). The Sea Lion Islands are at 52°25′S, 59°00′W (Gazetteer no. 31, USBGN). Published as part of LeCroy, M., 2003, Type Specimens Of Birds In The American Museum Of Natural History. Part 5.
