Introduced in this Continent in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia in 1929 (Fall, 1934). Now known from Massachussetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. This species occurs on relatively dry ground in a variety of open habitats, especially near towns and ports and it is often abundant in seashore drift (Davidson et al. , 2011).
