Summary: | This is an archive of the Google Drive that contained video presenations, talk slides, and breakout session notes for the Anomalous Freshwater Workshop held (virtually) from Feb 11 to Feb 13 2024.Discussions pre, during, and post workshop are not included in this archive. They can be found at https://github.com/NASA-GISS/freshwater-forcing-workshop/ . Workshop goals 1. Assess and quantify available direct & indirect evidence for historical anomalous freshwater fluxes from ice sheets & ice shelves 2. Assess the likely impact of these fluxes on the ocean and climate 3. Decide on a process to combine this data sensibly to provide input(s) for historical climate model simulations w/o interactive ice sheets 4. Discuss how this input might be best implemented in models 5. Extend this process to scenario or idealized simulations 6. Set up a team to produce the inputs and write a paper in time for CMIP7 |
