Description
Summary:We have designed and integrated a very minimum system for SLR, called Omni-SLR, aiming at a better and denser laser tracking network. It is significantly small-size and low-cost in contrast to the existing SLR stations. We have finished testing its core components such as a laser, a timer and a telescope mount, and we are currently assembling these components and developing software. It is going to be installed and tested at the Ishioka Geodetic Station in 2024. This project is linked with airbourne/satellite optical communications and optical time transfer where high precision tracking is essential. The deployment to the Syowa Station, Antarctica, is also under consideration.
