IODP Expedition 378 Vane shear strength (Torvane)

Sediment strength was measured on section halves using a Humbolt Manufacturing Torvane handheld instrument. The Torvane is suitable for sediment not affected by cementation (i.e., saturated, clay-rich, soft sediment).
