Description
Summary:Coelosphaera (Coelosphaera) koltuni Schejter, Ríos & Cristobo, 2019 (Fig. 4a) Material examined: 5 specimens collected at station 11 (SOI; 60°53'S, 42°35'W; 487 m; 10/3/2014; MACN-In 41376 and MACN-In 41377; IEO-CSIC Col.; see Schejter et al. 2019). Description: Globular sponge attached to hard substrate by a short and narrow peduncle. The peduncle can include small stones. Surface with hollow fistules (Figure 4a). Spicules are anisostrongyles with asymmetrically ends 850–1300 /33–38 μm, arcuate tridentate isochelae 25–35 μm and sigmas (S and C shaped) 35–55 μm. Remarks: See Schejter et al. (2019) for a complete characterization and discussion of this species.
