Description
Summary:EVOPLOSOMA FORCIPIFERA FISHER, 1906 Fisher, 1906: 1065; Clark, 1993: 253 Occurrence: Hawaiian Islands, east of Kauai Island, 48°S 15′W. 929–1247 m (682–508 fms). Comments: The specimen image of E. forcipifera from Trego (2008) lacks abactinal spination and shows quadrate marginals abutting along the midradius, a character absent from Evoplosoma , indicating that the specimen described in this paper is misidentified, invalidating Trego’s (2008) range extension for this species. The holotype for this species is missing from the USNM collections (Ahearn, 1995).
