Description
Summary:Perizoma alchemillata (Linnaeus) (Fig. 50) Perizoma alchemillata : Beljaev & Mironov 2019: 270 (Sakhalin). Material examined. 1 ♂, Leonidovo, 11.VII.2015; 1 ♂, S Kholmsk, 15.VII.2018; 6 ♂, 11 ♀, Yasnomorskoe, 18, 19, 20, 23.VII.2019. Distribution. Russia (S RFE: S and central Sakhalin, S Khabarovskii Krai, S Amurskaya Oblast; S Yakutia, S and W Siberia, Urals, European Part, N Caucasus), Japan (NE Hokkaido: Hokuto, Koshimizu-cho, Shari-gun (Yazaki 2019)), N China (eastern Inner Mongolia), Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Transcaucasia, Turkey, Europe, N America (extreme north-east; introduced?). Remarks. The finding of P.alchemillata in Sakhalin and in Hokkaido significantly expand its general distribution range to the east. It is noteworthy that until the end of the 20th century, this species was known eastward up to Transbaikalia only (Viidalep 1996). Then it was found in the upper Amur basin (in 2005: Beljaev 2006b), in the eastern Sikhote-Alin (in 1014: Beljaev & Vasilenko 2015), in the central Sakhalin (in 2015: present publication), in the southern Sakhalin (in 2018: present publication), and in Hokkaido (in 2019: Yazaki 2019). This series of findings may indicate a modern and fast invasion of P. alchemillata in East Asia. It’s a meadow species. The hostplants of the larvae are mainly various Lamiaceae ( Galeopsis , Stachys , Ballotia , and others).
