Description
Summary:Acasis viretata (Hübner) (Fig. 25) Acasis viretata : Viidalepp 1996: 48 (Sakhalin); Beljaev & Mironov 2019: 256 (Sakhalin). Material examined. 1 ♂, S Kholmsk, 15.VI.2017; 2 ♂, 1 ♀, Yasnomorskoe, 11–13, 14–15.VIII.2020. Distribution. Russia (S RFE: SW Sakhalin, S Kurils—Kunashir, S Khabarovskii Krai, Amurskaya Oblast, Primorskii Krai; S Siberia, Urals, European Part, N Caucasus), Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Tsushima, Yakushima, Amami), South Korea, Transcaucasia, Europe. Remarks. The report of A. viretata from Sakhalin dates back to publication by Viidalepp (1996), and this indication was adopted in Mironov et al. (2008) and in Beljaev & Mironov (2019, 2021). However, in the GBIF website this species is not mentioned among the materials from Sakhalin kept in the IZBE Entomological Collection. Here we report an original material on A. viretata from Sakhalin due to the absence of certain published data. The larvae of A. viretata are polyphagous on various leaved trees and shrubs, feeding on flowers, leaves and fruits. Probably, in Sakhalin the species develops in two generations, with the moths flying in June and in August. The general distribution of the species is given here without a consideration of A. viretata himalayica Prout (SW China, Taiwan, Myanmar, NE India, Nepal). Judging by the wing patter, this taxon is probably a separate species, as it is given in BOLD: “ Acasis himalayica ” (Sample ID: BC ZSM Lep 71985). Published as part of Beljaev, Еvgeniy A. & Titova, Olga L., 2023, New data on geometroid moths (Lepidoptera: Geometroidea: Uraniidae and Geometridae) from Sakhalin and Moneron islands with notes on their taxonomy distribution and ecology, pp. 1-41 in Zootaxa 5369 (1) on page 16, DOI:10.11646/zootaxa.5369.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/10147411
