Description
Summary:Wannigan. This was a unit from a caterpillar train that traversed the boreal forest and taiga. It was pulled to LPB by Lindy Leigh and placed at the bottom of LPB in the Wawao Creek delta to be used as a live-in observation post for studies of pre-nesting and incubation behaviour. The brown plywood hide was built by Ken Abraham and Pierre Mineau in April 1976 before the arrival of the rest of the crew. Both spent that spring in the Wannigan making observations, but moved back and forth to the main camp about 3-4 km away mostly travelling at night so they didn’t disturb too many birds.
