Description
Summary:This report presents data obtained from cored sediments collected during numerous cruises in the Northwest Atlantic area. The cores were obtained by SCUBA, gravity cores and DSRV ALVIN. The sediments were sampled with 6 centimeter diameter plastic core liners and ranged in length from 9 to 63 centimeters. Analyses conducted on sediment material include organic carbon, organic nitrogen, percent sand-silt-clay, percent calcium carbonate and pore water concentrations of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, silicate and phosphate. This work was supported by ONR Contract N00014-74-C0262 and NSF Grant OCE 76-21878.
