Description
Summary:Alaskans Watch Bankruptcy Deal. ALASKANS WATCH YAKIMA, Wash., April 13 (AP)— Watermoose, Aneyalk, Itsooenukh and a thousand or more other natives near Barrow, Alaska, have a personal interest in bankruptcy proceedings here. Through their native associations, they own bonds in the Yakima-Benton county joint drainage district. The government invested $8000 of their money, gained from sales of fur and reindeer meat, in the bonds years ago, Attorney W. B. Bridgman disclosed today. An action for reorganization of the district under the federal bankruptcy act was filed in district court here. One hundred forty copies of the proceedings must be served in northern Alaska.
