Description
Summary:Young Spaniel Hero Of Tremendous Trek. YOUNG SPANIEL HERO OF TREMENDOUS TREK KETCHIKAN, Alaska, Aug. 1. (/P) —Taffy, a 9-month-old spaniel, owned by Lyle Christensen, Seattle, skipper of the cannery tender Celt, could tell a harrowing tale, if he could talk. Ten days ago he fell overboard When the boat was 12 miles south of here, fairly:. close to shore and was mourned as lost. Early today, almost unable to stand from exhaustion, his claws worn away, his paws raw and his formerly plump body skin and bones, he scratched at the door of a home here. Apparently he had tramped the shoreline all the way here, covering 100 miles through a wolf-inhabited region.
