T. Lopp, chief of the Alaska division, United States bureau of education. Fred R. Tait and Mrs. Tait of Seattle, teachers at Wales, on the isolated cape of that name, wrote Mr. Lopp that here had been no boat to Wales since July 6, when a series of storms began. They lived for several weeks on beans and dried pea soup with some native food furnished by Eskimos.
